The Naval Service and MOD staff stood in silence across Plymouth today (Friday) as they remembered the country’s war dead on with a two-minute silence on Armistice Day
Royal Marines of 1 Assault Squadon, (based Royal Marines Tamar), and civilian staff and sailors (of HMS Drake), held Armistice Day services in HM Naval Base, Devonport.
Ruth Smeeth MP ( Labour – Stoke on Trent) laid a wreath at a memorial as a guest of 1AGRM. She was on a formal Parliamentary visit to the naval base and accepted an invitation to take part.
Army Commandos from 29 Commando (the Royal Citadel) also staged a service at their base with families attending and children laying wreaths.
