David grew up in South Africa and returned to the U.K. as a mature student, and gained a B.A.Fine Art (hons)degree at Cardiff College of Art. He then taught Art and Design in a community college in Plymouth.
It was while teaching that he started to work in ‘torn paper collage’ as he liked the impressionistic effect it produces and the unexpected depths, tones and moods it creates. He took early retirement from teaching in 2001 and now works in his studio at home on the Rame Peninsula. As well as selling originals he produces high quality giclée prints of all his original work, which he sells mounted and framed in limed Ash frames.
