WonderZoo has an exciting line-up of events for March and early April and we’re really looking forward to it all! We’re still doing our series of weekly performances with the WonderZoo crew (Slain McGough Davey, Queen Chi, Gabi Marcellus-Temple and HiP.P), plus a few special guests, for the Stronger North Stonehouse Project. Check out our YouTube channel or our website to find out more about this exciting project. Next, we’re running our online radical reading group, where we’ll be looking at Virginia Woolf’s seminal novel ‘Orlando’ – free books for participants, first come first served. Then it’ll be time for Cosmic Storytelling, our online writing and storytelling group. Along with partners Imperfect Cinema and Soapbox Culture, we’ll be holding the first pilot event based on research into a new arts festival for Plymouth. Last but not least, our monthly performance group will feature some amazing artists, including comic poet Robert Garnham and all-round wonderwoman Mama Tokus!
Featuring:
Merris Longstaff – well known poet with a unique performance style
Becky Nuttall – Exeter-based poet new to WonderZoo
Caitlin Rose Brawn – fantastic young poet and singer/songwriter on the Plymouth scene
Chris Arning – London-based poet new to WonderZoo
Robert Garnham – the wonderfully exuberant Professor of Whimsy
Lucia Daramos – talented poet, originally from Romania
Tommy – our youngest ever poet and very talented performer
Headlining will be the amazing Mama Tokus – soulful singer, comic poetess and composer/performer based in the South West
A Zoom link will be sent out one hour before the event, or join us on Facebook Live!
