Over 150 business people from Plymouth and the South West came together to celebrate the end of the year at a glitzy Christmas Ball, organised by Plymouth Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The ball was held on 6 December at the picturesque Moorland Garden Hotel on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. 155 people attended, including representatives from National Marine Aquarium, Tamar Science Park, City College Plymouth, City Bus and Duke of Cornwall Hotel.
Guests enjoyed a superb three course meal and drinks, followed by coffee and mince pies, in festive surroundings. Entertainment was provided by table magician Andy Nichol and a host of events which ran throughout the evening.
City College Plymouth took the lead in the table quiz, with their Head of Corporate Relations, Sharron Robbie, winning a bottle of champagne. The evening also included a free raffle, with prizes kindly donated by Moorland Garden Hotel, National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Gin, City College Plymouth and Redrok.
Suzi Cumberland, Events Manager at Plymouth Chamber, said: “The Christmas Ball provided a wonderful setting for guests to get together with other local businesses, have fun and celebrate the end of the year in style.
“This is the first year that Plymouth Chamber has hosted a ball and we have been absolutely delighted with the success of the event. Everyone who attended had a fantastic evening and we are looking forward to holding the next ball in 2013, which is set to be even more fabulous as it will be in the year of the Chamber’s 200th anniversary!”
