Ed Baxendale Retires from Southern Diving Unit

A long-serving civilian worker for Royal Navy divers who has helped dispose of the biggest wartime bombs remaining in Plymouth has retired. Ed Baxendale, 65, has retired after 22 years service with the Southern Diving Unit in HM Naval Base, Devonport. Royal Navy Amphibious Task Group in Gibraltar

HMS Ocean deploys on Joint Expeditionary Force

HMS Ocean sailed this morning from Plymouth on a 6.5-month deployment as part of the inaugural Joint Expeditionary Force (Maritime) (JEF(M)) Task Group. The family of a Royal Marine who died in the First World War have spoken of their happiness after the identification of his grave, which had been marked as ‘unknown’ since his death.
